Sealing Flat Roofs

The flat roof belongs to the category of the most damage-prone building components. The most common causes are leaking points such as connections, penetrations and superstructures. Building materials exposed to different coefficients of expansion, permanent temperature changes and environmental pollution – the demands placed on a secure seal are extremely high. It's in situations like this, when tradition sealing methods fail, that liquid plastic has an opportunity to put its functioning and competence to the test.

The biggest benefit of liquid plastic is its economic efficiency, which derives from the fact that it is so easy and quick to use. No mixing or waiting time. The single-component seal is applied to the surface directly from the drum. Liquid plastic based on polyurethane (PUR) hardens against humidity, fissure-bridging, weather-resistant, seamless and without joints. Whether for surface work or for details, liquid-plastic seals forge a powerful connection to a wide variety of materials and substrates. They are especially well-suited for use in confined spaces, as well as for fine-detail sealing work on the roof. Liquid seals represent state of the art in this field.
In the current professional regulations for roofs with sealing surfaces ("Fachregel für Dächer mit Abdichtungen") the are not only mentioned but are ranked equal with roof sheet and plastic sheet.

Here are a few of the benefits:

  • tear-proof and fissure-bridging up to 2 mm
  • fits on every substrate like a glove
  • steam-permeable and roots-resistant
  • suitable for rooftop planting
  • permanently elastic and flexible from –40 °C to +90 °C
  • UV-resistant without additional coating

Particularly when detail connections are needed, liquid-plastic sealing materials cannot be matched. They can be applied to the smallest corner and fit - despite their minimum thickness - onto every form of substrate. For this reason, the surface load to be taken into consideration is negligible. Liquid plastic is especially economic and easy to handle.
